Breaking Ground on Hope

On a crisp October morning, our community gathered at 1650 Harbeck Road with hearts full of gratitude for the official groundbreaking of MissionView Village. As attendees enjoyed fresh donuts and signature Homeless Joe Coffee, this inspiring event brought together generous donors, local leaders, and our dedicated board and staff. The morning featured uplifting remarks by Executive Director Brian Bouteller, State Representative and Board Member Dwayne Yunker, and Board Chairman Richard Emmons. This was followed by a ceremonial turning of the dirt.

Above all, this milestone stands as a testament to what a community can accomplish entirely on its own. MissionView Village is built completely through the generosity of private donations, foundations, and local community members, utilizing zero government funds or taxpayer dollars.

Why MissionView Village? Since 1983, the Grants Pass Gospel Rescue Mission has helped individuals leave homelessness behind. However, older adults on fixed incomes often face skyrocketing rental costs that can consume up to 80% of their monthly budget, making independent housing nearly impossible to secure. MissionView Village provides our program participants a compassionate, practical next step to address this crisis.

Project Facts & Vision

  • Stay Connected to the Mission: MissionView Village serves as an extension and satellite campus of our main facility, meaning residents remain active participants in our proven Mission programs while gaining independence, dignity, and a place to call home.
  • The Community: The village will feature 20 thoughtfully designed 500-square-foot tiny homes—complete with a bedroom, bathroom, closet, and living area—alongside a shared community center for gatherings and fellowship.
  • Comprehensive Support: Residents maintain their connection to the main campus while receiving ongoing case management, financial guidance, and medical tracking to ensure long-term stability and prevent isolation.
  • Two-Phase Timeline: Groundwork is scheduled to finish by the end of this year, followed by construction across two distinct phases—with Phase 1 occupancy expected in summer 2027 and Phase 2 occupancy following in early winter 2028.
  • Entirely Privately Funded: Operating without a single cent of taxpayer funding, this $2.3 million project is backed 100% by community generosity and private support.

How You Can Help

While breaking ground is a tremendous achievement, our work is only beginning! Building the village is just one part of the journey; we rely on ongoing financial gifts, volunteer service, and prayer to sustain daily operations at MissionView Village, as well as the shelter, meals, and restoration programs running every day across our existing campuses. If you feel inspired to partner with us by donating, volunteering, or touring our facilities, we would love to connect with you. Thank you for standing with us as we restore hope and dignity right here in Grants Pass!
