AN ANNOUNCEMENT THREE YEARS IN THE MAKING
Three years ago, God gave us a vision to address a heart-wrenching need in Grants Pass: providing a safe place to call home for seniors experiencing homelessness due to fixed low incomes. Today, by God’s grace, strategic planning, and the unbelievable generosity of our community, we have a major announcement to share! See video:

3 years ago the Mission was given a vision. We wanted to offer a place to call home to seniors who are experiencing homelessness, in large part due to their inability to rise above a fixed low income. These folks often become some of our best clients and dear friends during their stay at the Mission, but the challenge to help them reach independence has become nearly impossible due to the rising cost of housing. Our vision: 20 tiny homes organized around Mission values of life transformation, community engagement, and the Lordship of Christ in all areas of life. We named this project MissionView Village. We shared this vision with the community and have been so blessed by an outpouring of financial support, prayers, and personal notes of encouragement. Honestly, the initial support poured in much faster than the details of our plan came together, reminding us how critical the need is in our community.
Our staff, board members, and community partners have worked and fought hard to raise funds while keeping the whole project affordable and remaining true to our vision. We did what Jesus told us to do in Luke 14: we counted the cost. We worked with planners and contractors, and we adjusted the accordingly when costs went up. The end result has culminated in our being able to announce that by God’s grace, strategic planning, and your generosity we now have the funding needed to make MissionView Village a reality. Our next plan is to begin the site work, and you will start to visibly see a difference very soon.
Mission View Village has been a long time coming. Hundreds of donors, an anonymous foundation, local businesses, and churches have all had a hand in it. If you’ve given to this project, you are part of this answer to prayer. So first, on behalf of our residents, our staff, and our board: Thank you. Let’s thank God together that Mission View Village is moving from idea… to blueprint… to construction… to blessing many low income seniors.
As we celebrate Mission View Village, we are not here to ask you to “finish the construction budget.” We’re asking you to fuel the ongoing work of the Gospel Rescue Mission – the daily, often unseen ministry that feeds, houses, disciples, and restores people’s lives in Jesus’ name. Mission View Village will give us space specifically designed to do that for seniors. Your gift is extremely important to ensure we can operate all that God has entrusted to us – wisely, effectively, and without compromising the gospel.
